#1st September 2022, Adecom Network organized one day Legal Camp VAW for Protection officer in Puducherry & 7 districts of Tamilnadu in Societe Reveil Social in Puducherry. In which, Government Secretary Mr. Speech by Udayakumar IAS, Laws would only provide protection to women and it was the society that should give them value and recognition, he advised. Through this, the cases of domestic violence can be gradually reduced, He further said that Protection officers should try to provide counseling to affected persons with the help of voluntary organizations. He advised that awareness meetings should be held with the help of voluntary organizations to encourage women to speak out about domestic violence,

Inaugurating the Legal Camp, Executive Trustee Mr. Lalithamballe said that the one-day legal training workshop has been organized to ask the Protection officers to take immediate action to ensure that various domestic violence cases are pending in the court.
Women Development Department Associate Director Speaking, Mm. Amutha inaugurated the training by saying that she is very happy that Adecom Network has been providing solutions to affected women through counseling as a service provider since 2017 under the Women and Child Development Department.
Madras High Court Advocate, While speaking, Mm.Meenakshi mentioned that the Domestic Violence Act, 2005, the duties of Protection officers the domestic violence act states that if the case is delayed in the district court, the victim can immediately appeal to the High Court. He also highlighted the current developments in the domestic violence law, recent judgments related to domestic violence and the importance of service providers. The government should appoint Protection Officers in every taluk at the district level. Initial relief can be provided to the affected person by counseling the affected person with the help of the service provider.
Mr. Perumal, Advocate, Puducherry, while speaking, explained the practical problems and solutions for registering cases of domestic violence. He highlighted the responsibilities of security officers under the Domestic Violence Act. He also explained about tracking their status on the website. And the government should immediately provide necessary infrastructure facilities for security officers. Increase the number of service providers. He said that efforts should be made to identify voluntary organizations in every district and make them service providers.
30 persons from the districts of Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Chengalpattu participated and trained in this one-day training course including security officers, integrated service center and community group members. Earlier Puducherry District Project Coordinator Mm.Nanmati welcomed them all. Mm.Barmavathi, Family Welfare Adviser delivered the vote of thanks. The training was hosted by Project Manager Jayashree. Mr. Tamilarasan, Mr. Usman, Mr. Srikanth, Mr. Radhakrishnan, Mr. Devaki organized this training.
