Masculinity Training For Men & Boys

On 29-11-202, our Fellow organized Masculinity training for Men & Boys in Mangalam Village in Puducherry. Training was given on the topic of Vasu language, first the youth were reminded about the previous training, then they were made to understand what Vasu language is, then what is Vasu language was asked to the youth and written in the box. The youth said a lot of Vasu language. Then, even if men do wrong, men are not given a name in the society, but even if men do it, women blame it on women, so we need to change this. The coordinator explained that change should be made. Training was conducted on the topic of violence. The coordinator drew a circle and wrote violence in it. He asked the youth what violence means. The youth said that violence means beating, kicking, scolding, sexually harassing, hurting, scolding, asking for dowry, chasing out of the house, forced marriage, child marriage, not giving property. After the coordinator connected the missing parts, these violence’s are divided into four types: physical violence, mental violence, economic violence, sexual violence. A coordinator said that they should say what it involves.
The society has made violence to the youth to mean to the women, so we are in a position to break this, so we have to act with the aim of creating understanding in the society and reducing the violence. In the Training totally 35 persons were participated.
