16 Days campaign – Day 4

# 16 days Campaign- DAY – 4, A series of 16 days campaign was organized in Pondicherry on 28.11.2022. Our CBO Mr. Mohanasundharan, PSDF has coordinated this campaign activity with the support of Maitri and ADECOM Network.

Ms. P. Lalidamballe, Managing Trustee – All the above 18 years everyone is responsible for the safety of women children. If a woman or girl child is harassed by someone her family members should come forward to fight against the perpetrator. We should respect the survivors of all forms of VAW with dignity.

Ms. Chitra Priyadarshini Protection Officer Women and Child Development Department Puducherry – DV act and OSC activities and services. One Stop Centre also known as Sakhi. Sakhi provide an integrated range of services to women affected by violence. These services include medical aid, police assistance, legal aid/case management, psychosocial counseling and temporary support services. Women in distress can reach the Centers physically or over the phone. And also OSC provides the short stays. Victim can stay for 5 days. Sakhi can provide all the necessary items to victims such as, Three times of meals, Cloth, Bathing and washing soaps, Toothbrush and Paste, Sanitary Napkin.

Ms. Chitralekha Social Service Officer Retired Jipmer Hospital Pondicherry. – She explained how children who are subjected to abuse are psychologically affected and from her work experience she explained 2 case studies and the methods to solve it.

Ms. Tamilarasan Advocate – explained about the free legal aid services to the victimized women.

There are 50 community group leaders & members who participated and benefited directly.
