DAY 7 – 16 Days Campaign. Puducherry

# 16 days Campaign- DAY – 7, On 01.12.2022, ADECOM Network, Rettiyarpalaiyalam Primary Health center, Pen Oli Koodam and Bharatha Madha De addiction center coordinated the Poster campaign at the Primary Health center campus, Reddiyarpalayam.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Gunasekaran encouraged them on World AIDS Day, that we should support the VAW. Medical protection should be provided to women and girls affected by violence.Women are the worst victims of terrible diseases like AIDS through their husbands and intimate partners.Therefore, we should not humiliate such women and treat them with dignity. It is very welcome to organize this program in collaboration with organizations working for women. Because violence against women is increasing day by day, it is very important to make women aware of the problems faced by women and their solutions.

Maitri Project Fellow Mr. Jayasri, while speaking, explained what is violence against women and how we as a public should treat the victim of violence with dignity. One of the most important human rights is to live with dignity. Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the individual. Therefore,women victims of violence should be treated with dignity.

This campaign was attended by more than 300 people including doctors, Nurses, Area supervisors, Medical students, SHA staff, and the general public.

During the meeting 3 DV cases received participants, 2 DV cases referred by Doctor’s. A youngster from a nearby village asked us to keep the awareness banners in the villages.
