Stakeholder Meeting to Reduce, Prevent and Redressal the Violence against women

In Tiruvannamalai district on 26.04.2023 , Stakeholder meeting was held for multi-disciplinary officers to reduce, prevent and redressal the violence against women at the Superintendent of Police Office training hall. It was held as a continuation of the state consultation. The meeting was jointly organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Women’s Rights, District Legal Services Commission, Women Empowerment Trust and ADECOM Network with the support of Maitri Network.

Hon’ble. Eswaran Murthy, Chief Criminal Justice Thiruvannamalai said that the victim should get proper justice. The police should give full cooperation to it. A case should be duly registered with the police. The cases being registered have to go up to the Supreme Court, for which the First Information Report has to be duly registered. He explained the sec 326A 326B 327A 327B. There is a lot of child marriage and child labor in Javvadu hill in Tiruvannamalai district. There are many child laborers in brick kilns.They said there are now 5% more child laborers than ever before. The victim comes to make a complaint against the person. Then they withdraw immediately. Because the victim is threatening. Apart from that, they take the money he gives and change their minds. So we all have to work together to create a new change in society. He spoke about the formation of the Vishaka Committee. They told us about the case they settled.

Hon’ble. Jayavigan Judicial Arbitrator No. 2 Thiruvannamalai said that tOfficers in every department
should perform their duties well. If doing so, the affected person should get proper redressal.

Hon’ble. Sujata Justice, Mahila court in his speech talked about the mechanisms for providing redress to the affected persons and the government financial schemes available to them.
