*Capacity Building workshop for Adolescent girls *


Ginghee Dignity Centre organized the Capacity Building workshop for Adolescent girls on 28.09.2023. The workshop lead by dignity facilitator Mr. John Basco. In this workshop, the One Stop Centre Administrator Ms. A. Padmavathy explained about the Government Schemes such as innovation Schemes for girl children, the girl child Schemes born to widows, the Schemes to protect girl children, Inter caste marriage benefit Schemes, the impact of child marriage etc.. Vallam District Child Development Program Officer Ms. R. Saumiya explained about nutritional foods for adolescent girls during the ongoing Nutrition Schemes. All Women’s Special Police Inspector Mr. Miku P. Leema explained to the participants about registering a case, knowing the status of the case, all women’s police station work, types of cases, women’s helpline number and children’s helpline number in a simple way. A group discussion was conducted using balloons about the memorable memories of the young girls who grew up in the workshop.

After Lunch Doctor Ms. Kanimozhi of Melsithamur Primary Health and talked about the menstrual aspects of adolescent girls, anemia among adolescents, personal hygiene, hand washing methods and government concessions in the medical scheme. Also, the special invitee Advocate Mr. Prakash clearly explained about fundamental rights, juvenile crimes, sexual crimes, UNICEF principle, Right to Education Act for girl children. In this workshop, 44 young girls grew up in Ginghee ADECOM Dignity Centre were participated. Feedback was received from the participants in the event, Mr. A. Ethiappan, Mental Health Consultant of ADECOM Resource Center, supervised the program, and finally the program concluded with a vote of thanks by the legal volunteers, Mr. Rajaveni.
