The Monthly Balika panchayat members meeting was planned for this month at Kondangi village and the title of the Balika panchayat is chooses by the guidance of ADECOM network WRC with a gaming activity.

Description:

Balika Panchayat meeting was held on 15.04.2024 at Kondangi village, 11 members participated in this meeting and the program was coordinated by volunteer Ms. Seetha. In this meeting, ADECOM Network Villupuram Women’s Resource Centre Field Coordinator Mr. Murugan was organized and the members were divided into two groups, one group was asked to raise boys , the other group was girls and asked to hold a group discussion on the way society views them , post their opinion  by The group also commented on male child rearing and female child rearing in which the birth of a male child is celebrated more critically and the naming of the male child is considered a ceremony. If it is a male child, they buy nutritious products and bring them up with nutrition from childhood. Boys get good education for their higher education and get admission in the institutes of their choice. Boys are free to go wherever they want. These are not taken seriously because the girl gives birth immediately after the birth. The birth of a girl child is not celebrated like the birth of a boy child. Just because they are girls, they are not given nutritious food. Women are not given higher education in the institutions of their choice or in the education of their choice. Girls are not allowed to go out and play. Girls are not allowed at home to wear whatever clothes they want. They don’t give importance in education just because what are you going to do with girl studies you are going to go to another house by yourself. As the annual exam is coming this month, it is advised to study well and write the exam.
