First we called all the students and made them stand in a circle and clapped their hands and encouraged them and then asked them about their activities during the holidays. Then we asked a student named Venmati to sing a song. He sang Annal Ambedkar’s song and entertained them. Then asked about what happened in the previous meeting. Now we are going to talk about sustainable goals. The students asked what that means and the goals of the Paduka Panchayat
We made it clear that the first goal is to go to a quality education school and no one should drop out. They said that a student named Sumitra did not go to school in the eighth standard. They called the student named Sumitra and asked what is the problem and why did she not go to school. They told her that the teacher is beating her in the school. They said yes.The second goal is Gender Equality. We made it clear that it is not enough to achieve gender equality outside, your brothers and sisters in your home should also give you gender equality.
The third target is only drinking water and sanitation.
Fourth Goal Environmental Action First you have to keep your house clean then your street is clean and then your town is clean and we made it clear that we can be clean step by step.
Mr. Emumalai started talking about violence and rights and asked what is violence and the students said that beating, kicking and scolding are violence. Both Gunamati and Tamil Theral portrayed the problems going on in their house very vividly. It was easy to understand
Finally, we made them understand that hitting with stones is not only violence, hitting with words is also violence.
