Puducherry 15, ‘Social fighters who serve the people without any selflessness are social service, never disappear’, said former Social Welfare Minister Hon. Mr. M. Kandasamy at the 2nd Anniversary Memorial Awards ceremony of Ms. P. Lalithamballe.
The 2nd anniversary of the birth of the great gender equality activist, Ms. P. Lalithamballe, was organized on October 14th at the DMS Mahal, Villiyanur, along with the Pinnagam Awards Ceremony. The former Minister of Social Welfare, Hon. Mr. M. Kandasamy, who presided over the main event, the book release, said that Ms. P. Lalithamballe was born to serve the people. Even though she died, her services and principles will never be forgotten. Any social work done with a selfless purpose. Social workers will never leave this earth. Their work will continue to be done well, he said in his special address. Following this event, the Adi Dravidian tribal people and the Adivasi people who had come from the Senchi area danced according to their cultural traditions and sang songs about Ms P Lalithamballe. The rural people also enjoyed singing and dancing gummi songs. Students danced and beat drums, and art groups performed their dances. Also, students of Raak College and students of Jawahar Dhrona Academy performed their dances, speeches, and songs to cheer them up.
Following this, students from 8 districts including Cuddalore, Karaikal, Thanjavur, Tiruvannamalai, Chengalpattu, Kallakurichi, Puducherry, and Villupuram
The visiting organizations working for women and children shared their experiences with Ms. Lalithamballe and how her activities have improved their leadership.
