On 09.10.2025, a Balika Panchayat meeting was organized at Then Bazaar Village, Tindivanam Taluk, bringing together 15 vibrant adolescent girls for a thoughtful and empowering session.
👩🏫 Facilitated by PLV Mrs. Chithra and Illam Thedi Kalvi Volunteer Mrs. Ramya, the meeting focused on the theme “Safe and Unsafe Spaces.”
Through open discussions, the girls identified areas in their village where they felt unsafe and decided to present their concerns during the upcoming Grama Sabha meeting on October 11th.
🎯 The session also featured interactive memory games and group activities, helping participants learn about safety, discipline, and teamwork in an engaging way.
The facilitators encouraged the girls to attend Illam Thedi Kalvi classes regularly, where consistent learners are recognized with prizes, and reminded them that psychological and legal counseling are always available through ADECOM Network for those in need.
🌷 The meeting concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Selvi Akshaya, and a strong collective commitment from the girls to participate in every Balika Panchayat meeting.
💪 This session reaffirmed that when young girls are empowered with awareness, they become leaders who create safer and stronger communities. 🌿✨
