The ADECOM Network – Women’s Dignity Centre, Tindivanam conducted a Balika Panchayat meeting on 15 October 2025 at Singanoor Village, Tindivanam Taluk, with the participation of 15 adolescent girls.
The session was facilitated by PLV Mrs. Chitra and Home-Based Education Volunteer Mrs. Ganga, focusing on identifying safe and unsafe spaces within the community. The girls actively shared their views, discussing which places in their village they felt unsafe and why. To strengthen memory and teamwork, fun group activities were also introduced.
Volunteers encouraged regular participation in home-based learning sessions and announced that prizes would be given to consistent attendees. They also assured that psychosocial and legal counseling will be provided to children and families in need through ADECOM’s support system.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with all members pledging to attend monthly Balika Panchayat meetings regularly — reinforcing the message that “every girl deserves to live, learn, and grow in a safe environment.” 💪🌼
