A Balika Panchayat meeting was successfully conducted on 19 December 2025 at Endiyur Village, Tindivanam Taluk, with the participation of 17 adolescent girls.
The session focused on ending child marriage and protecting the girl child, highlighting that marriage below 18 years for girls and 21 years for boys is a punishable offence under law.
Through interactive discussions, girls learned about their rights, consent in marriage, education, and reporting mechanisms like Childline 1098.
The programme encouraged confidence, unity, and awareness, reinforcing that protecting girls is a shared community responsibility.
