1.WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT AND GENDER EQUALITY INITIATIVES
WADECOM Network is dedicated to empowering women and girls, promoting gender equality, and challenging harmful gender stereotypes and discriminatory practices. Through its comprehensive community-based initiatives, ADECOM has established 180 women-led Community-Based Organizations, 210 Children’s Panchayats, and 24 Men and Boys’ Groups across 7 districts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. These platforms analyze and challenge harmful gender norms, promote inclusive participation, develop leadership skills, and encourage men and boys to support gender equality. By empowering women and girls, ADECOM Network contributes to a more equitable society, fostering social change, reducing gender-based violence, and promoting human rights, ultimately creating a transformative impact on the lives of individuals and communities.
ADECOM Network enhances Leadership and Local Governance by empowering marginalized communities, particularly women, to drive change. Through community-based initiatives, ADECOM builds capacity, fosters inclusive governance, and promotes active citizenship. Over 1,800 women have assumed leadership roles in local governments, championing equitable representation and inclusive development in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
ACTION THROUGH THEATRE
Our arts and culture group kootu-k-kural (or ‘Collective Voice’) take action for women and children’s empowerment through creating responsiveness to using traditional performance art. ADECOM staff and Volunteers stage street performance and theatre workshop. Together, they build sensitivity of important social issues and encourage positive behavior change in communities.
ADECOM Network promotes environmental sustainability through holistic initiatives, empowering communities to safeguard their ecosystems. Key programs include establishing Green Clubs for children, fostering kitchen gardens in homes, environmental education and awareness campaigns at the community level, waste management and recycling training, community-led clean-up initiatives, sustainable agriculture and organic farming promotion, and climate change resilience building. The Green Clubs initiative has been particularly successful in villages, engaging children in kitchen gardening after school, reducing idle time and potential involvement in illegal activities, and encouraging responsible behavior and community engagement. ADECOM Network’s comprehensive approach ensures a healthier environment and sustainable future for marginalized communities in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
CAMPAIGNS, COMMUNITY SUPPORT AND ACTIVISM FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN
We focused on social, economical, environmentally and strategy changes that improve life for women and children. We campaign to tackle social problems such as violence against women and alcohol abuse. We also collaborative with state government and other institutions to ensure strategies that protect and develop of women and children are implemented.
COUNSELING AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES.
ADECOM Network is committed to preventing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) such as Sexual violence, Sexual abuse, Work Place Harassmental, Matrimonial sexual violence (Domestic Violence) and etc., through its multifaceted programs, providing critical support to survivors. The organization offers counseling services for emotional support and trauma recovery, and mental health services to address psychological impacts of GBV.
To ensure accessibility, ADECOM has established 10 Women Resource Centers (WRCs) in its working districts, staffed with qualified counselors, psychologists, and mental health workers. By providing safe spaces and expert care, ADECOM empowers survivors to regain control, confidence, and dignity, ultimately contributing to a GBV-free society.
LEGAL AID SERVICE TO WOMEN
We provide legal assistance to women fleeing domestic violence who require additional support and assistance.
Educating and empowering women is a vital part of the Family Law & Women Protective Laws. This approach enables women and children to move forward in their lives while feeling protected and supported by the law.
Our Legal Forum ( Groups of Advocates) in this team are joined by community workers and Legal counselors to better support women and children who are victims of family violence, sexual violence in order to navigate the legal system.

REPRODUCTIVE, MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH
ADECOM Network prioritizes Reproductive, Maternal, and Child Health (RMCH) through comprehensive services, ensuring the well-being of women, children, and families. ADECOM’s RMCH initiatives include prenatal and postnatal care, institutional deliveries, birth spacing, family planning education, immunization, nutrition counseling, adolescent health education, and pediatric care. Through its 10 Women Resource Centers in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, ADECOM provides accessible, quality healthcare, empowering women to make informed choices about their reproductive health and fostering healthy communities.
ECONOMIC, VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES
ADECOM Network’s economic empowerment initiatives focus on vocational training, skill development, and financial inclusion, enhancing the livelihoods of marginalized communities. Programs include vocational training, agricultural skills, financial literacy, digital literacy, and business incubation. Over 5,000 individuals have benefited, gaining increased income and self-employment opportunities. ADECOM’s holistic approach fosters economic growth, self-reliance, and resilience in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
